I was born in the U.K., photography registered at 14, which was driven by a darkroom where I printed my father’s negatives before I had my own camera. A few years later, finding ‘The Zone System’,
[and a move to Canada at 20] I had many photographs exhibited and published in Toronto publications.
This lead to art and design college, then 3 years at Citytv and MuchMusic, followed by some solid documentary/travel photography for 2 years.
In 1996 I put the camera down, while I art directed and photo edited many well-known Canadian magazines including: Shift, Outpost, enRoute, Adbusters and Unlimited. I have been an art director for the past 20 years+ for design, magazines and web.
I have been fortunate to take over 80 Canadian and US art direction, design and photography awards including 17 gold and 11 silver.
Switching from film, 5 years ago, I purchased my first digital SLR camera and embarked on new portraits. The photos on this site are taken during this recent period.
